Privacy Policy

How CING handles your personal data.

The Cornish Independent NonAligned Group (CING) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under data protection law.

What data we collect

We may collect the following personal information through this website:

  • Contact form submissions: your name, email address, and the content of your message, submitted via our contact form.
  • Newsletter signups: your email address, provided when you subscribe to our mailing list.

We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. If our site uses any functional cookies, these are limited to those strictly necessary for the site to operate.

How we use your data

We use the information you provide for the following purposes:

  • To respond to enquiries submitted through our contact form.
  • To send you newsletters and updates if you have opted in to our mailing list.
  • To understand broadly how visitors use our site, using anonymised analytics where applicable.

We will never sell your data to third parties or use it for purposes unrelated to CING’s work.

Third-party services

Our website uses the following third-party services, which may process your data:

  • Formspree (or similar form-handling service) to process contact form submissions. Data submitted through the form is transmitted to and temporarily stored by the form provider.
  • Buttondown or Mailchimp (or similar newsletter service) to manage our mailing list and send newsletters. Your email address is stored by the newsletter provider for as long as you remain subscribed.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them.

Data retention

We retain contact form submissions for no longer than twelve months after your enquiry has been resolved. Newsletter subscriber data is retained for as long as you remain subscribed; you may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.

Your rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erase your personal data (the “right to be forgotten”).
  • Restrict or object to certain processing of your data.
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on your consent.

Contact us

If you wish to exercise any of these rights, or if you have questions about how we handle your data, please contact us at:

Email: privacy@cingparty.uk

We aim to respond to all data requests within one calendar month. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
